Why You Will Never NOT Have Pix of KB and the Guys

Laura and I have been talking lots lately about photography…. and pictures we take at the varied shows that we get a chance to go to.  Lucky Laura, definitely gets to go to more…. but I am trying to catch up (darn distance) LOL.  Others around like to take photos too.  Cheryl, Bonnie, Jen…. and others out there!  Attend any Kris Bell show, and I guarantee there will be cameras flashing.  I love looking at others’ photos…. and enjoy working my way through my own after each show.

It’s nice to have someone that I can talk to about those pix who GETS it, kindred hearts and spirits….  but thought I might share with you all  a little…. might help you understand why you never have to worry about running out of photos of Kris, Coop, Shane, and Bryan.

Kris puts his heart into every song he performs, every show he does….. he wouldn’t feel right if he didn’t have his guitar(s) with him there.  Right?!  Well, it is the same with our cameras….. it is our way to experience the show on an even deeper level…. looking for those shots of familar movements, faces….those memories in a tangible form.  Our hearts go into each photo we share… plain and simple.

I hear all the time from family and friends that I must be missing the show.  Far from it…. I would still enjoy the show…. who wouldn’t, LOL… I am talking about my favorite rock “boys”… and they DO put on the best show around… but having my camera with me  just enhances my experience.  I know Laura, and others feel the same.  Don’t ever think we feel obligated…. we know that when someone misses a show, they are dying to see pix … but if we wanted to, we could and would leave the cameras home, and that the friends out there, while sad at missing a show, would understand…. but it would just feel so wrong!

I’ve been to a show recently (another band)…. and had a chance to try out not having a camera attached to my face for a show.  I still enjoyed the show…. but felt like part of me was missing…. that something wasn’t quite right with the world. :D As I enjoyed the show and rock-and-rolled through it… I saw shots… fabulous photos that would have been a way that I could have shared my heart….. what I saw and experienced.   I still have memories of that show…. but as the days, months, years go by… those memories will fade…. and they are so special, and a part of who I am…. I hate that.

Love having my camera at a show so I can share my heart, my feelings, my emotions, my experience, what is happening on that stage in the way I am enjoying it….  So don’t feel sorry for those of us who snap photos at every show!  Enjoy them, experience what they are offering you!  The sharing part is one of our joys too.  All of the photographers shoot with different cameras, lenses, flashes, and experience……but I promise…. with each photo, you are getting a lot more than just a picture.  You are getting a little insight into the photographer’s heart… and photos shot from the heart, really show you those guys on stage!

On that note…. ready to go home and work on some more pix…. and definitely ready to go and shoot some more at the next show I can get to!  Hope to see you there!  If I don’t… don’t forget to check out whoever’s pictures afterwards!  You will enjoy them, I am sure!! ;)

  1. You captured the essence of what I want to say whenever someone asks me why I take so many pix at a show. Thanks!!!

  2. Awww Lisa ((((HUGS)))) I know you love your pics and I’m so grateful everytime I get to see pics from you, Laura, or anyone else. It helps us either feel like we are there with you or the memories we make at each show together. I do love taking my pics as well for the same reason, but they definitely aren’t up to you or Laura as far as pics go. Thanks for all the pics and keep them coming! I can’t wait for another show with you!!! :)

    Much love!
